Our nutrition specialist Dr. Vickie Culp D.C., CCN is a Clinical Nutritionist. Her professional motto is “transformation through information.” She has devoted her career to educating her patients and students about the role that nutrition plays in health. Dr. Culp has developed nutritional protocols for a wide variety of patients from Olympic athletes to individuals with spinal cord injury. She received her doctorate in Chiropractic in 1984 and her board certification in nutrition in 1999. She is the creator of the information website www.2beingwell.com.
Sable Otey has been competing in the world of track and field for 12 years. She earned a scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene and later transferred to George Mason University where she was an ECAC qualifier and conference champion in the Heptathlon. Sable graduated from George Mason University in May 2010 with a B.A. in Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources with a concentration in Exercise Science.
She has coached high school and collegiate athletes in both the sprints and hurdles and is currently the hurdles coach at San Diego Mesa Community College. She is also pursing a Masters of Education at National University.

Melinda “Mindi” Smedley-Hudlin trained and competed in the world of track and field for over 14 years and has over seven years of personal training experience. Her passion for fitness and nutrition is rooted from her track & field career as she excelled on high school, collegiate and world-class levels. Mindi competed at the 2004 & 2008 US Track & Field Olympic Trials; the 2003-2007 US Track & Field Championships and was selected to compete on notable US relay teams.
Mindi holds firsthand knowledge and experience in a lifestyle of fitness and nutrition; a gift she wants to give back to others for a healthful lifestyle. She believes in using motivational techniques to help others reach and sustain their goals for a healthy lifestyle.
Mindi has a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, a B.A. in Sociology from San Diego State University, and is Certified in personal training as well as in CPR.
Melinda Smedley is currently training for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games to be held in London, England.
Karoline Koehler has been competing in the world of track and field since 1994. In 2003, she graduated from Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium, an elite sports high school in Erfurt, Germany. As an enlisted soldier in the sports company of the Federal Armed Forces, she was awarded her Level One Coaching Certificate. As a junior, she competed at the European as well as the World Championship Games.
Earning a scholarship to San Diego State University, Karoline has made a name for herself as an NCAA Division I collegiate athlete. She is a 3-time recipient of the Mountain West Conference High Point Award, is a 6-time NCAA All-American, was the NCAA runner-up in the long jump in 2009, and is the current SDSU record holder in 4 events. Karoline completed her collegiate career with personal records of 11.43sec in the 100m, 6.64m in the long jump, and 13.68m in the triple jump. In 2010, she graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Karoline was born in Soemmerda, Germany. Currently, she is pursuing her professional career in track and field with the goal of qualifying for the Olympic Games in 2012 in the 4×100m relay and the Long Jump.
